Summer in a wrap...

As you can tell, I am definitely not the best blogger, in fact I told myself I wasn't going to do it anymore. I tell myself I don't have time and I just don't want to do it! I have realized that this is the only journal that I really have, I am so bad at keeping a journal. I also love to look back and see everything that we have done in the last couple years and it is great to see it in pictures. So, once again I am going to try harder to blog for myself, just so I have the memories captured.

Since the last time I posted was in May, the beginning of Summer, it is only right to make my next post on the last day of August, the end of summer to me. So here it is, our summer in a wrap....

Girls Tuacahn Getaway

This was the 12th Annual Girls Tuacahn Getaway! I can't believe it has been 12 years! Every single year I look forward to this and I have only missed it one year. It is so great to get away with my mom, sisters, grandma and cousins. I only see my cousins a couple times a year so it is so much fun to spend the weekend with them. We missed you Denni and Preslee!
Grandma and Mom-the ones that make it happen for us!
Cousin Cobi
Every year we go to the Bear Claw to have a yummy breakfast. Here we all are waiting to get seated.

Yum, yum!

We made a visit to our favorite new spot, SWIGS, so GOOD! They have sugar cookies that they frost right before they serve them, they are scrumptious! They also have delicious Shaved Ice.
I think we made two or three stops while we were there.

Hollie didn't even have to hold her snow cone, it rested perfectly on her belly.:)

We did a little swimming thanks to Aunt Julie letting us use her pool.

On Thursday and Friday night we go to the Tuacahn plays, Thursday night was Grease. Grease was cute, I think I expected more though. I feel that each year they really focus on one of the plays and this year they really focused on Little Mermaid, so Grease wasn't as good as anticipated. The Little Mermaid was really good though. They did such a great job with it.
The last night we leave a little early and take a few pictures of the whole group. This year we did a few photo shoots of a few of us....

This is Grandma's photo shoot, such a fun lady!
Ohh laa, laa! Stacy!
Rrrrr....
Hollie being so seductive I couldn't even concentrate on focusing the camera.
and then there was Jacki, the most beautiful of them all....:)

I already can't wait until next year! Thanks Grandma!

Cabin Fun

The weekend after the 4th of July we went to Russ and Hollie's cabin with my family. Cooper had Cub Scout Camp so he and Collin stayed back and I took Bode and Peiton. We had a great time. Besides Collin and Coop, everyone in my family made it except for Alisha and Autumn (we missed you). Some where there for the whole time, some were only there for a short period of time, but it was great to be with everyone.

The weekend was spent by...
Playing on the swings
Riding 4-Wheelers
This is what Bode wanted to do the WHOLE time! He would either just sit on the 4-Wheeler and yell until somebody would take him. Once he got on he would not get off. If he heard the 4-wheeler turn on, he ran up and got on. He was pretty sneaky too, if he knew somebody was ready to go, say an adult and a child, he would run up and get on before that kid would get on. We are lucky enough that all the kids were so GREAT with him, they all knew that if someone was on the 4-wheelers, then Bode had to go. We had 3 so it wasn't too bad for everyone to share.
Some relaxing...well for some.
Playing in the dirt
More 4-Wheelers
Games
More 4-wheelers
Looking pretty
Looking silly
and more relaxing!

Thanks Sorenson's for the great fun!

This is the Place Monument

Every year my family goes to This is the Place Monument. Sometimes I wonder why we do it, it is always so blazing HOT, but the kids have fun. Here is the clan before we started. The Catmulls and Rachelle and Cru didn't make it this year.
The first thing we did when we got to the park was went and rode the horses. We had to do this so Bode would cooperate, well for the most part.
Bode loved riding the horses, he did not want to get off the horse (can you believe that?).
Peiton riding the horse
The kids that were too cool to ride the horse.

We enjoyed spending time in the petting zoo, petting all of the dirty animals.
I think Bode wanted to live here, he kept going into the goats little barn and just spending time in there.

Here Bode is in his little wanna be home.
Cooper getting all of that hair on his face off! There was so much. ;)
On the train.
On the mini train, Bode didn't want to get off of this either.

Ahoy Matey!
Digging for gold

Peiton thought the rocks were gold, she didn't quite get the concept. :)

By the end of the day we were spent, or at least I was spent. It turned out to be a day of chasing Bode everywhere and I was about done, don't believe me ask Mom and Haws, they witnessed my little tantrum!

Bode had 3 snow cones, really. He had one for himself, then he stole Cooper's and then Coop went and got another one and he stole that one. Finally Cooper got another and I told him to not show it to Bode. Bode's mouth was bright red after he was done eating all of the snow cones.
Grandma Bubba
Haws
One of the last crafts they did was coloring little bags to take home. Cooper concentrated very hard at making his bag perfect!
It is always great to go here, it gives you a small glimpse of what life was like as a pioneer. I definitely could not do it, and I couldn't do it with Bode that is for sure. They were so strong and their faith was so strong. I have so much to be thankful for because of them.
