A wet, cold, fun, Memorial Day Weekend!

This past weekend was full of fun and excitement for the Richards family. It started Friday afternoon as we made our way up to Midway, Utah. We first stopped by to wish my cousin congrats for graduation from Wasatch High. Congrats Dexter! We then made our way to the Zermatt Resort where we met up with Charlie, Holly and Kelly. The girls (Holly, Kelly and I, were spending the night at the Zermatt all by our self's while the men headed up to the cabin with the kids....thanks Collin and Grandpa!) We grabbed something to eat, chased Bode up the mountain (at least Holly did) and toured the beautiful grounds of the Zermatt.

It was now time to bid farewell to the boys and little Peiton so our relaxation could begin!

The night was young and how we wish we were too....I'll I wanted to do is sleep, I was pooped. So, Kelly and I went to this fabulous Relaxation room where there was a fire place, the lights were dim and the heat was turned way up. It was so comfortable. We got our ipods and layed on the lounges and fell right asleep for about 1 1/2 hours. We made our way back to the room and got ready for bed. We then decided to turn on a movie which I only made it half way through. It was a very relaxing evening prior to a race day.

Saturday morning we went over to the Homestead to run their Homestead 1/2 marathon and 5k. We said "No Thank you" to the 1/2 marathon and chose to run the 5k. The route was beautiful. Midway and the Heber valley is gorgeous! We all did great taking 1st in all of our age groups (it wasn't too difficult when there was only about 50 or 60 running, there was probably only 3 people in my age group, and I got this fabulous medal which is now I believe in the garbage....I don't need anymore junk around here.)



After the race we went back to the Zermatt to meet up with our hubbies and kids. Mat and the Kunz kids met up with us too. The men were off to go golfing and the woman were left with the kids.

We decided to take the kids swimming at the pool. The water was FREEZING, and Bode insisted that he stayed in the pool and not the warm hot tub. I was dying! brrrrr!


Lunch time and nothing better than good ole' Mc Donalds...alright there are many places better than Mc Donald's, but it is perfect for the kids.


After lunch we made our way up to the cabin.


Bode was so tired he put himself to sleep on the floor.


Cam and Nicky showed up and Cam taught the boys how to build a fire. They were pretty impressed. Cam also played Playstation continuously with them. Thanks Cam.

We had a yummy barbecue and then headed home for the night. We always have such a great time at the cabin and it was extra fun spending the night at the Zermont. Thanks Holly for making that possible. We had a blast!


On Monday (Memorial Day) we made our way back up to Midway to visit my sister's and Grandpa's grave. This is a family tradition to meet up at the graves and then we usually will meet at my Grandma's house and play ultimate Frisbee. This year it was a little wet so we didn't get to play ultimate Frisbee. We showed up a little late at the cemetery and missed the group shot. Luckily Casey and Rachelle were late too so we could get a shot with them. The wind was so awful and cold that we didn't stay long and the cemetery.


I got some fun shots of Peiton and Matix. They are a week and 1/2 apart. Matix was so funny to pose for the camera, he knew exactly what was happening.


This year was really fun because we had my Mom's side of the family join us for lunch and Grandma and Pa's. Everyone was there except for Angie and her family and the Tillmann Fam...we missed you! It was good to visit with everyone. Grandma prepared a wonderful lunch as usual and we all had a great time.

Stacy you totally ROCK!

I would like to wish my AmaZinG sister Stacy a Happy Birthday!

She has so many qualities that I admire. Here are just a few....

She is so domestic. She sews all of her children's clothes, makes her OWN clothes, and a plethora of other things...you name it, she sews it!
She gets an adequate amount of sleep each night. She never gets too much or not enough, I don't know how she does it. (It might have something to do with that mask she sleeps with???)
Her family is so normal and down to earth. Just look at them, how I wish my family was just like hers. And yes, her husband is too DIE for, just look at him! (You may notice that there is an extra child in this picture, that is just like her, always taking on more kids....she wants to have thousands!)
There is never a dull moment with Stacy and she does visit the dentist regularly as you can see by this picture. I don't know where she finds the time to visit him, but somehow she does it.
With all of these qualities and loads of more qualities, she finds time to be a wonderful sister!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Daddy-O!

I would like to wish my fabulous Father a Happy Birthday! I hope you have a great day DAD!

10 things I Love about my DAD:

1. First and foremost....I love that I am his favorite!! Ask any of the siblings...it's true, I AM!

2. My dad isn't one to express his feelings to much, but he is one to show it in his actions. By the way he acts towards his children and the things he does for us I know that he loves me.

3. I do Love when he does express his feelings because I know it is from the deepest of his heart and he means it.

4. I love that he has always provided for my family and I have experienced many things because of him.

5. I love that he loves my mom and I love to see their love continue to grow over the years and their love just continues to get stronger.

6. I love the silly moments he has, when he breaks out of his shell and he is goofy as can be.

7. I love to listen to him speak. He is a wonderful speaker and has such a great insight on many things. His family home evening lessons are always so great too.

8. I love that he honors his Priesthood and I am thankful for all the many blessings he has been able to give me because of his faithfulness with his Priesthood calling.

9. I love his tender heart.

10. I love how he constantly loves me and will always be there for me. I love you dad!

Coop's first black eye

The other night Cooper and Collin were practicing baseball. Collin was throwing grounders and Coop was really getting into it so he would dive to try to catch the ball in his mitt and one bounced up and popped him right in the eye. This would be his first "mouse" so they say. There were a few tears shed and he was a little nervous to go back to school the next day. The eye ended up not being as bad as we thought it would be, thank goodness. I think it is kind of cute.Right after the hit, the picture doesn't give it justice.

Last week in a summary....

I guess I have kind of been on a hiatus with blogging lately. I haven't really had the time nor the desire, I have wanted to be outside enjoying this warm weather while we have it (we all know it is too good to last). So here is a little summary of what we have been up to the last week.

Peiton is now mobile!

Peiton has now decided she wants to get around. The beginning of last week she started to do the army crawl. She is the cutest thing to watch as she tries to maneuver around. She is getting really good at it. It was time to break out the gates and child proof the floor, nothing small is allowed on the floor since everything in sight goes right into the mouth. I kind of forgot what a hassle it is to make sure the gate is up at all times and everything on the floor is picked up.

Afternoon at Wheeler Farm On Thursday a couple of us in my neighborhood decided to venture out to Wheeler Farm. Bode was in school so I only had Coop and Peiton, and I must admit it was so EASY! I did miss Bode and kept saying "I really need to bring Bode here, he would love it!" The thing I love about Wheeler Farm is that is free and there isn't much to do, so it doesn't require a lot of time. It is usually just a nice, quick trip and the kids are ready to go by the time you are done.

On Saturday me and a couple of friends had a garage sale. As I was putting all the stuff together, I kept thinking to myself, "this better be worth it." I must say I was certainly pleased, I brought home a little cash.

Cooper had a little food stand where he sold donuts, pop and candy. He did pretty good on his earnings, although he kept giving his money away to his friends...what can I say, he is very generous :)

Sunday best

Holly, my mother-in-law gave this darling dress to Peiton, I had to get a picture of her in it. She looked so cute in it. So tell me what you think...a young man in our ward told Collin, referring to Peiton, "Modest is Hottest," I am thinking the tank straps are okay on a baby, my goodness she is only 9 months old, she has no idea what modesty is. In fact little tank tops on babies are darling and I will continue to let her wear them until she is old enough to look in modest, and knows what it means. I do think he was kidding around when he said it, lets hope so at least.

The kiddos, it looks like Coop is due for a new haircut.

Race for the Cure

Saturday morning I was able to participate in the RACE FOR THE CURE. I have done this race a few times before this, but this time it was a little different than before. I joined a team that supported my sister-in-law's mom Rebecca, and it was such a neat experience. Rebecca found out she had breast cancer about 3 or 4 months ago and is currently doing chemo. Rebecca is such an amazing lady and a inspiration to all those that come in contact with her. She has stayed so strong during this whole trial in her life and she has a wonderful family that stands by her and supports her. Every time I go to her blog I choke up, she has to go through so much and she continues to stay strong. She also has her testimony posted and it is amazing. I truly admire and love her.

It was really neat to actually run the race for someone that I knew was conquering breast cancer. The turn out for the race was AMAZING, I believe they had almost 17,000 participants, it was incredible. You could hardly even run because the street was just full of people, it was amazing. As I ran through the people walking I focused on the pink papers everyone was wearing on their backs, the tears constantly would come to my eyes as I would read "In Celebration of my Mom, Sister, Friend," or "In Memory of my Mom, Sister, Wife, etc....(it would actually have their name on the paper). I just thought to myself it is amazing how many people are fighting breast cancer and how many life's it has already taken. My heart goes out to those that have lost someone because of breast cancer and for those that are fighting it.

{Cooper runs 1 mile}

On Friday night Cooper had a school Fun Run. It was a school fundraiser and he promised he would run 1 mile if people donated the money, he earned $20 to donate to the school. I was able to run it with him (Collin would have loved to, but he still can't run from his knee surgery) we had a great time together. He did a really good job, we only had to stop and walk a few times. I just wanted to congratulate him on his first 1 mile run. Good work buddy!Before the run

St. George here I come!

I am so excited!! Last night I found out that I made it into the lottery of the St. George Marathon. I have wanted to do this marathon for such a long time. I have been nervous all this week just to know if I made it or not, and I did! So Lou lou, let the training begin, we are in!!

5 things I admire about Holly:

1. Her family is her #1 priority. She would do anything for them and loves to spend time with her family. She makes each one of them feel very important in everything that they are doing. She has taught them right from wrong and how to make the right choices. She has been a wonderful example to all of us.

2. She is an awesome Grandma! My kids love her and love to spend time with her and I know that she loves to spend time with them. When the kids are at her house, it is their time together, nothing else matters, she gets down on the ground and plays with them and does whatever they want.

3. She has a strong testimony of the gospel. She is always educating herself with the scriptures. Through her dedication and love for the gospel, she has been a great example to her children. They grew up with a mother that loved the gospel and they knew it was important to her. This I really appreciate because the gospel is very important to me and I want my family to have a gospel centered home. So, through her example Collin knows the importance of it.

4. She has great fashion sense. She always looks great, her hair is always darling, her outfits are darling, she just always looks great. She does a great job in picking anything out for me. I always love what she gets me, my kids, or Collin. She also has great interior decorating skills. Her house is gorgeous and everything goes together great.

5. She is very ambitious. She is always doing something. In the spring and summer her and Charlie are always going on hikes in the morning or out enjoying nature. She is always on the go and getting the most out of life. She takes her job very seriously and does a great job at it.

There are many more things I admire about Holly, but these are just a few. I am thankful that she has taken me in and made me feel like a part of her fabulous family. You are a amazing woman Holly! I love you!

Double Feature

Last night, a couple friends and I went to see Made of Honor. I was really excited to see this movie because it is just one of those movies that you know will be cute. And it was, it was a cute movie, predictable, but cute. We had some GOOD laughs. After it got out, we thought how great it would be to see another show...so we called our fabulous husbands at home and said we won't be coming home for a while. (We are all very lucky because they said, "sure, have a great time!" I don't know what I would do without a supporting husband that wants me to have fun with my girlfriends, he is fabulous!) Anyway, we went and saw .....

BABY MAMA

I thought this show looked hilarious, and it pretty much was (or the fact that it was 11:00 p.m. and most of us were delirious...I know 11 isn't that late, but for me it it is). What I also liked about it was that there was more to the story line. They are both very silly ladies.

It was a great night out with super fun friends and good laughs.
