I am pretty excited to say that LOST is offically back starting tomorrow night. Tonight there is a recap of what happened last season for those that missed it or just need a little catch up (I know I do). And I am also excited to say "Hello" to Jack and Sawyer...yummmm.

The Emoticon
Ever since I have been blogging, I would read someone's blog and see all these funky punctuation marks all over. I thought to myself what are these? Did I miss something in English class? :-/ There has to be some new punctuation rule going on. So, about a week ago I google-ed "how to use correct punctuation." And "What are Emoticons" came up. I clicked on it and found all the punctuation that I had been seeing... amazement!! It was pretty cool, all of these little punctuations were people's feelings. I love it! So, now I feel I can understand you better when reading your blogs, I can feel your real emotions...what will they come up with next. :) Now I have posted a few of the meanings to some of these neat EMOTICONS we see every now and then, in case there are some that had no clue like I had no clue. (I am sure everyone knew what they meant, and I am the only clueless one here. I just found out what LOL means like 2 months ago...thanks, Kristen!)

President Hinkley
"Now, my brethren and sisters, the time has come for us to stand a little taller, to lift our eyes and stretch our minds to a greater comprehension and understanding of the grand millennial mission of this The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is a season to be strong. It is a time to move forward without hesitation, knowing well the meaning, the breadth, and the importance of our mission. It is a time to do what is right regardless of the consequences that might follow. It is a time to be found keeping the commandments. It is a season to reach out with kindness and love to those in distress and to those who are wandering in darkness and pain. It is a time to be considerate and good, decent and courteous toward one another in all of our relationships. In other words, to become more Christlike"
Gordon B. Hinckley - Gen. Conf. 1995 Apr.

Chore Chart
I now have a working boy on my hands. I am getting so sick of cleaning up the same things over and over, and asking Cooper to do something over and over. He is old enough now that he should have a set of chores that he needs to do on his own, without being asked. I found the template for this little chore chart while I was "Googl-ing" chore charts. I found this template on a blog and it was availabe for a free download. It was designed by Brooke Kemp Designs. It thought it would be really cute and good for Coop. Collin and I thought we would throw in a little allowance to make it a little more exciting for him. He is at the age where we can start teaching him about saving, spending and paying his tithing. I don't know how many times we go to the store and he sees something he wants, and I just tell him to save his money and maybe he can get it, but there is no money coming to him that he can save. So, hopefully this will be a little incentive to help him work a little harder. He is such a good kid to do what I ask, but it would be so nice to not have to ask him to do it, he could just do it. So, I guess we will see how it goes.

Yipee, I did it!
Mom and I before the race
I ran into some of my cute friends before the race.
Trucking along at mile 2
I got to the point where the gang was suppose to meet up with me, and I was just too fast for them, they couldn't keep up with me. (And yes, they were driving...I am going to brag a little bit, because I felt so good about the race, I feel I deserve to.) Well, I finally saw them at mile 11, I was on the home stretch...only 2.1 miles to go, yippee! It was about mile 12 where I started to get a little tired, but I was doing so much better than I thought I would I still had to push it. After one hour 56 minutes, I crossed the finish line...I was so pumped that I did it under 2 hours. My goal was to do it under 2:30, and I thought 2:10 would be the best I could do. I was pretty proud of myself. (I am sure there are many of you that could do it a lot faster, but for me a 8:40 mile was doing great.) At the finish line I had my wonderful cheer team, they were so good to be there for me and cheer me on. (Mom, I am really glad you ended up coming with us, I loved having you there.) They were such great support.
Grandma, Me, Mom....after the raceRachel, Me, Marcy...my awesome friends,
Another great friend, Kathryn.Whoo-hoo!
(Ignore how goofy I look in all the pics, a little sweaty and gross)
So, we were now off to get me cleaned up and start our busy day. First we wanted to go lunch, we tried something really different...Cafe Rio, heard of it? Yummy, Yummy! Rachel wanted to visit her grandma really quick, so we dropped her off and headed to the mall. After a little shopping we picked her up in time for our 2nd movie of the vacation. We were planning on seeing 27 Dresses, but the 2:20 show was sold out (everyone decided to go to the theatres this weekend, Larry H, really needs to invest in some St. George theaters) So, we made a little switch and decided to see Mad Money, and bought our tickets for 27 dresses at 7:30. Mad Money was a cute show, we really enjoyed it I love Katie Holmes, well I love the Joey, (Dawson's Creek) Katie Holmes, and she was a bit like that in this show. After the show we dropped my mom off at my grandparents and we were off to do some more shopping and more eating...hey, I just ran 13.2 miles, I could eat whatever I wanted, Hot Tamales and Popcorn....here I come! My mom met us back at the theatre for 27 Dresses. I have found a new actor that I like...the guy in it is pretty cute. I can't think of his name, but he was also in Hairspray, he was pretty delish...it made me miss my cute hubby, who was home with cute Coop how still had the flu, and a limping Bode and a little angel Peiton. He did awesome with the kids, I really appreciate him.
So, the weekend was a 10, we all had a great time. It was so good to see my grandparents and talk a bit with them (that was the only bummer, the weekend was so full of fun activities, I didn't spend a lot of time with them...but what I did, I really enjoyed.) The food was fabulous, felt good about the race, 3 movies, great company...it couldn't have gotten better. So to all those involved, thanks for a great weekend, I had a blast. And thanks to Grandma and Pa for your hospitality...I love ya! And thanks for cheering me on, it meant a lot to me. Until next year...plan on us Grandma and pa!

Wish me luck!
Well, I am off to Sunny St. George where the temperature is hopefully 20 degrees warmer. I am going to be running in the 1/2 marathon there on Saturday. I am feeling pretty good about it, so hopefully it all goes well and my body cooperates. My friend Lou-lou was going to run it with me, but she last minute had to stay home because her baby has RSV...what a bummer, I feel really bad for her. We are going to miss her. But, I have an awesome cheer team coming along. My two good friends Marcy and Rachel and then my Mom and my sister Stacy are all coming along, we are going to have a blast, I am really excited! We are going to stay at my grandparents house, and spend some time with them too. In all, it is going to be just a great getaway.
I am sad to say that I am leaving my poor husband with the 3 kids. Cooper woke up last night in the middle of the night with a tummy ache, followed by some vomiting. Bode is still trying to get over a sinus infection, and he whacked his foot on the door frame last night, so he is not walking...AT ALL. I am hoping Peiton, will be a little angel for him, because he is going to have his hands a little full. I really appreciate him letting me go and how he continues to support me in all the things that I want to do. He his awesome and I owe him so much. Love ya babe! So, wish me luck, and wish Collin some luck too. We will post about it when I get home. Peace Out!

Monday, Monday, Monday....
Well today started out like a typical Monday. Mondays always seem to be the same, I don't know if you do, but I seem to hate Mondays. It is time to clean up from the weekend, start on the pile of laundry from the weekend, starve yourself because of how you ate over the weekend, Mondays are just a pretty lame day. Well today wasn't going to bad. Cooper was excellent as usual, Peiton took a awesome nap and was so happy all day, and Bode was doing pretty well also, considering his daily ritual of throwing things down the stairs. So, a little after 4, I was finishing up some ironing, and I left Bode downstairs watching the Jungle Book (I should know by now, not to let him leave my sight, but if I did that, nothing, and I mean nothing would get done.) About 5 minutes after leaving him alone, I came down to check on him. And to my amazement, I walked down and saw a huge pile of food on my family room rug. He had taken a 1/2 full box of Triscuts, 1 full box of Kashi Go Lean Cereal, and the worst, a 3/4 full box of Grape Nuts...tiny little Grape Nuts! AHHHHH!!! He had also gotten into Cooper's gumballs, so there were gum balls thrown all over the floor too. Now let me tell you that my rug is a long shag rug, there will be no Grape Nuts coming out of that rug. I tried to suck and suck with the vacuum and they are in there for life. I think we will be saying "I see ya," to the rug. This little guy has trashed our house. Our couches, walls, desk, table, you name it, Bode has trashed it. He has figured out to open all child proof locks...this little guy is one smart cookie. All I can think is, "my poor house." So, feel free to let me in on some way awesome child proofing techniques, I am in need of some.
This is where he took the bags out of the boxes, it all began in the kitchen.
From this photo, it doesn't look to bad...trust me it is awful. To top it off, he decided to throw the cereal after I caught him.
A little closer look of how embedded it is in the rug.
Today his item of choice to throw down the stairs would be all the pillows off of my bed.

Smarter each day...
As a lot of you know, Bode can not talk yet, and will not be talking anytime in the near future. The words or words he tries to say are "MAAA" (mom) "NAA" (no) "MMM" (more), he did use to say "DAAA" (dad) but for some reason he no longer says it. Anyhow, this can become very frustrating for a parent or for anyone to figure out what he wants. He does A LOT of screaming trying to tell me what he wants. He has done very well and learning some sign language to communicate and he will do certain actions to try to tell me what he wants. Well yesterday, it was about 4:00, and I was pretty much fed up with him screaming and yelling, I was awaiting Collin's return home. Bode was trying to tell me what he wanted, and I couldn't take it any longer. So, I just sat down on the couch, and kind of ignored him. Well, Mr. Smarty pants, wanting my attention NOW, got on the couch got behind me sat down in what space there was between the two of us, he put his feet on my back and began to push with his legs, forcing me to get up and off the couch. I fell to the ground laughing. I was so surprised at how smart he really is. I don't give him enough credit for what he has accomplished not being able to talk. I know this is going to be a struggle for me for a long time, and I need to learn to have patience with him, he is doing the best he can to communicate. Sorry, this might be a boring post to you, but I had to do it, I need to remember the silly things that happen in my life. I love my kids and the joy they bring to me.

Deceptively Delicious
I spent the whole morning preparing the food that are main ingredients in a lot of the recipes. Basically it included a lot of steaming and pureeing. It didn't take to long, and I just put most of it in my freezer until I am ready to use it.

The recipe on the list tonight was Turkey Burgers. Cauliflower was the hidden vegetable. And I thought they turned out pretty good. The only thing that went wrong, was that I used Italian flavored ground turkey, instead of regular ground turkey. It kind of gave it a taste that really didn't need to be there. But, overall we liked them. Collin said he liked them, ( I think he was kind of being nice about it, he is a hard critic, he grew up with an excellent cook). Cooper, ate 3/4 of the burger....shocking!! He never eats his food, and he said he liked it. That alone, convinces me to continue cooking from the book. And Bode, well he took a look at it and threw it on the floor, along with all the other food he tried to eat during the day, that I just leave there because I am SO sick of picking it up.

Music, anyone???
It has come to my attention as I have been running, that the music on my ipod is getting quite old. Who knows how many songs are on it, but there is about 5 that I really like to listen to at the moment. Pretty soon those 5 are going to get very annoying. So, I remember a friend of mine, Rachel, made this similar post...(thanks for the idea, Rach) So, now I am asking all of you, what music do you like to listen to while running or working out. Please! Help my little friend, the ipod, find some good tunes that will help me move along. For me music is everything when running, if you have lame, boring music, it just isn't going to happen. So, all those runners, workout lovers, music lovers, give me some good tunes.
