"Look what I found!"

I am so excited to say....I think spring is on it's WAY! I found my tulips peeking through that grummy dirt yesterday, I was just beside myself because it only means one thing, spring is on the way. Besides the fact that we will probably have 3 more snow storms before it is actually her, it just gives me hope.

Sista!

Alright, I have been a huge slacker on posting anything lately. I do feel like I have a great excuse, I seriously have not had the chance to sit down and take a minute to let you know something else that I LOVE. Plus, I am kind of getting a little sick of posting things that I LOVE...not to sound ungrateful or anything, I just need something a little different. So, this may be the last post on LOVE. Valentines is long gone anyway...bring on March baby!

So...this last LOVE post is going out to my "Sista's." I LOVE my sisters big time! We have such a riot when we are together. My favorite time with them would have to be the trips we take to St. George in the summer with my sweet grandma and my cousins and aunt. Only girls are allowed, and we have a BLAST! We spend the drive down listening to GREASE 2 over and over again. Who sings Grease 2? Who knew there was a GREASE 2? O' the Van Wag gals do!! (And we are shocked our mom let us watch it growing up.) We know it word for word, (especially Hollie) and shout it on the top of our lungs, singing it just like Michelle Pfeiffer, she really rocks the house down. Tuacahn is full of memories, we have been doing it for 9 years now.

Quick photo shoot before the Tuacahn plays...O' so hot! (Especially my belly!)
It is amazing that I still do LOVE them after all the mean things they would do to me when I was little (Jacki and Stacy). They would come into my bedroom when it was dark or even when it was light, and they would widen their eyes as big as they could and just stare at me, and get closer and closer. It freaked me out! It still freaks me out to this day. They were so mean to me! Hollie was never mean to me though (thanks Haws!) I was the one that was mean to her, sorry :(. I think it was that fact that we had to share a double bed until I was like a junior in high school, and she wanted to cuddle every night. I had to force her off of me each night. To this day I do not like to cuddle, maybe for 5 minutes and then that is it. But, as we have gotten older our friendship has grown stronger and we love to bond with each other. I know that I can count on them for anything and they will always be there. I am excited for the many more years that we have to make some awesome memories :) And remember girls..."It will be FREE!"

We are so lame! This picture was taken as a joke, we are NOT being serious! But isn't it beautiful?

P.S. Through my brothers marriage I have also gotten 2 other awesome sisters, Alisha and Rachelle. They add to our family perfectly. And through my marriage to Collin, I am lucky to get 3 other rad sisters! Kelly, Court and Nicky, we all have a blast together. LOVE ya Sista's!

Paula & Lost money

Last night as we are watching American Idol, Cooper comes to me and says...

Coop: "Mom"
Me: "Yes, Coop."
Coop: "Don't you think Paula is looking a little old?"
Me: "Well, yes, I guess she is."

Holy cow he is 6, where did he come up with that. I wonder when he is going to tell me I look old.

Today I was changing Bode's diaper (yes I still change his diaper and probably will for a couple more years). Anyhow, it was a poopy one, (I do need to give you all the details) and as I was looking at the poop I noticed something in it. It kind of looked like a black rubberband. It got my interest so I started to examine (yes, I did use coverage on my hands, and I vigorusly scrubbed my hands after completion) and I realized it was a quarter! And then I kept looking to make sure there wasn't anything else and I found a nickel. So, I guess I STILL need to hide money and small objects from Bode because he will STILL eat them. I guess I am pretty lucky that he didn't choke on that dang Quarter.

I LOVE my boys!

{Recap = My husband the "gimp"}

Well we got the MRI results yesterday and we were told that Collin would be needing surgery on his knee. Apparently he tore the cartilage behind his left knee and it needs to be fixed otherwise, there can be some serious damage to his knee. He tried to talk the Doctor into letting him do it after the cruise, but he said "no way, you need to get it done right away." We were very lucky that they were able to fit him in today. So, my husband had knee surgery today...pretty crazy. Now, that it is all said and done, the surgery went great. From the MRI results it looked like the cartilage tore in a straight line, which was a great thing. If the doctor got in there and it was all torn up, it could have been pretty bad. When they got in there, it was a straight tear, but he still had to remove some of the cartilage. The doctor hopes this will make the recovery quicker...we are praying that it does. Now my poor husband has to lay in bed for the rest of the week, and his feet can't touch the ground unless the bathroom is calling his name.
We are keeping our fingers crossed that he will recover quickly, like 11 days quickly. I am so glad that everything went okay and that he is home safe and sound.

Books you LOVE...

So now I am asking for something that you LOVE! We are going on a cruise in 2 weeks from today and I am in need of a good book. Something that I can read on those days that I am laying out soaking in the warm sun. Now the key is, it needs to be a VERY GOOD book. I am not a big reader, so the books I read need to have some excitement, some romance, some suspense, the all inclusive book. (The Twilight series are right up my alley). So if any of you have any good reads that you LOVED, share with me.

My husband the "Gimp"...

On Wednesday night, my darling husband decided to injure himself. (Well I guess he did not decide to, it just kind of happened.) He was playing a vigorous game of basketball at the gym and injured his knee. He got home about midnight from the gym and told me he was on his way to the ER. His good friend Chad was taking him there and his dad was going to meet them. They were at the ER until about 2 in the morning and then he just went home with his dad and spent the night there (this was the night that the snow was a comin' down and the roads were awful). So, they took some x-rays and couldn't find anything wrong. He went to a Specialist on Friday morning who has now ordered a MRI to be done on Monday. So we will see how it all comes together. I don't know if I should hope nothing is wrong and he will just have to deal with the pain (he is in a lot of pain) until it heals, or hope that there is something wrong so they can fix it. I think both ways are kind of a bummer. Now the bigger bummer is that we are leaving for a cruise in two weeks and if he has to walk around on crutches the whole time it will kind of put a damper on the whole thing. He does assure me that he will still be in good spirits for the cruise and everything will be okay. The other bad thing is that I am not a very sympathetic wife, I get this from my mother (thanks MOM!), she never really babied us when we were sick, unless she knew we were really sick, we had to buck up and move on. And I think I carried this on to myself. So, honey I am trying a little bit more to be sympathetic because I know that you are in a lot of pain. It just makes me realize on how much I depend on you to do things for me, and not having you constantly at my side is kind of a bugger. So, I guess on Tuesday we will find out what the deal is. I will be sure to keep you all posted.

{Dad & Mom}

I LOVE my Mommy and Daddy!
(Aren't they cute?? They are going to disown me for posting this one.)
Where do I start? My parents are amazing, there is so much that I LOVE about them. The latest thing that I LOVE about them is how much they LOVE each other. It seems ever since all the kids have gotten married, their LOVE for each other has grown stronger. I LOVE to see them interact with each other, and they just LOVE to spend time with each other. It has been a great example on how your marriage and LOVE for each other can continue to grow.
  • I LOVE how they taught me the gospel
  • I LOVE how they trust me.
  • I LOVE how they allowed me to experience many things.
  • I LOVE how they taught me to work.
  • I LOVE how they taught me through their example to be a good parent.
  • I LOVE that they LOVE my husband.
  • I LOVE that they LOVE my children.I LOVE that they gave me 6 amazing siblings that I LOVE so much!

Thanks Dad and Mom for all that you have done for me. I LOVE you!

{Valentine's Day}

One of my most fondest memories growing up would have to be the Valentine's dinner that my mom would make every year. My dad would take all the kids to a movie or something, just to get out of the house and my mom would stay home preparing this fabulous dinner. When we came home we would have to be blind folded downstairs so we could not see what she had prepared. Once we were all downstairs she would bring us our appetizer for the evening. Soon after we were blindfolded up one by one and taken upstairs to our seat. There we would see this beautiful candle lit table, darling decorations, and scrumptous food. We all LOVED it so much. And one of the most favorite things about the dinner was that afterwards she did ALL the dishes, we did not have to do anything. Valentines dinner is something I will always remember.

Because I loved this tradition so much, I decided when Collin and I got married, I would continue to do it with our family. So, for the past 9 years I have been making a Valentine dinner. Until our kids get a little older I have been inviting people to come over for the last little while. It is something I LOVE to prepare, and I find enjoyment in doing it. The last couple years I have invited friends over and last night was the record on how many people were there. We had 12 adults and 11 kids (counting 2 babies), we had quite the crowd. (But what is 25 people, we all have a blast together, I have some of the most amazing neighbors...very lucky!) Because it is tradition, I won't let anyone see the whole dinner display until it is absolutely ready. So everyone is jammed upstairs, kids and all. But I feel that everything turned out great and everyone had a good time. Here a few pics of the dinner....sorry some of them, actually most of them, didn't really turnout that well. If I get better ones, I will have to post.

Crazy life...

So, I was suppose to post something that I LOVED everyday this month. Well, I have been so busy that the last time I checked my blog would have been Monday when I made my last post. So, maybe I will get back on the bandwagon and continue posting the little things that I LOVE! (Don't be suprised if it doesn't happen everyday though.)

It can put you in a better mood, make you grateful for things you have, make you sad, make you feel the spirit, etc...etc... I LOVE how music can push me on a long run or a hard workout, it makes or breaks the workout. There is just so many ways music can effect you, I LOVE it! :)

A happy place in the mountians...

Dad and Coop ready to go down the hill
Peiton and Mommy
I LOVE to go to the cabin.
Today we spent most of the day up at the cabin. It is always seems like such a hassel to get all the things packed up for the kids and get up to the cabin, but after we get there and spend the time there, we are glad that we did it. Today we went up to get some sledding done. On the road just outside the cabin, there is a huge hill that works great as a sledding hill. We take the 4-wheeler out so it can bring us back to the top of the hill. It works out perfect because in most cases the kids are tired after walking up the sledding hill once, so this saves their energy just a little bit.
I love this picture of Bode, he is actually smiling and looking at the camera
Kelly and Cohen
Holly rented skis for Cooper and Connor to try, and they both did so good. Cooper actually wanted to put them on again and try some more, which really suprised me. Bode had fun with Grandpa going up and down the hill on the 4-wheeler. And Peiton was her smiley self as usual. Collin and I both had some fun sledding runs in. Kelly and Holly
Charlie and Logan

We always have great experiences at the cabin, and great memories. Coop loves to spend time there and can't wait to go back. Thanks Charlie and Holly for all the prep that went into this sledding trip. We had a great time. The food was way too fabulous as usual, and we loved spending time with you. Thanks for everything! LOVE you!

Cooper's first time on skis...good job buddy!

{Date Night}

I LOVE date night with my hubby. It isn't very often that I get a date night with Collin, so when the time comes that we get to spend a night together, I am super excited. It is my friend Alicia's birthday and a bunch of us are going out to celebrate. The night is going to consist of dinner at Citrus Grill...which is yummy for those who have not tried yet. And then we are going to go and enjoy ourselves while watching Matthew McConaughey on the big screen in "Fools Gold." Anything with our little Matthew has to be good. So, I will let you all know if the show is any good, besides the Matthew part (thats always good!) I am looking forward to a great night out with you babe and a fun night out with friends. Happy Birthday Alicia!

I LOVE bakings soda and H2O! And I LOVE Laurie too. Thanks for your advice on how to get crayon off the wall. I finally had a change, or the desire to start scrubbing away on Bode's art work. And the baking soda and H2O did wonders, it came right off. So, Bode color away, I now know how to get that crayon off. J/k, don't really color away. I did leave the back of his door for a memorandum.

"SWEET" candy

Photobucket

A little on the lighter note of things that I LOVE!! I absolutly LOVE Valentines
because of this delicious candy made by SWEETS, and YES, it has to be made by SWEETS. All of the others just don't do the candy justice.

Photobucket

I LOVE the cinnamon hearts coated with yummy sugar, the cinnamon lips are to die for and the JuJu hearts are so good, especially when they are fresh. I have already had my fair share of these for this Valentines season. I just can not get enough though, I am in LOVE....

"You're gonna miss this"

Today in gym class, my cute instructor Debbie played this song for our cool down. It is a new song sang by Trace Adkins called, "You're gonna miss this." I was literally holding back the tears as I was listening to this song. It talks about life in general and how when we get through this stage in life, we are going to miss those times with our little ones, and miss all the fun things that we were able to do. It just made me want to run in the house and love and hug my kids. We go through life so quick, and we just can't wait until they do "this" and "that" because we want our lifes to be easier and we want to get through the hard stages. But, there is so much in this stage of life that I need to soak up and enjoy. At the Super Bowl party last night, all the sisters were talking about pregnancy, I was saying "I was pretty much done" (which I still am), and then we were saying how we wish they could come out as two year olds so we don't have to worry about the late nights, the feedings, etc. And now I feel so bad about that because I need to cherish every little moment I have with my baby, because this will probably be my last. I need to just eat her up, and eat up all the fun Bode CAN be and the things he teaches me. I need to enjoy this time with Cooper when he is learing how to read, and just learning all this new stuff, because before I know it, he will be in Junior High and friends will be his highest priority, not his lame-o mom. Sorry, to go on and on about this, but it just really hit me hard. So, thanks to Debbie for the emotional gym time, I think I really needed it. And to all of you take a minute to listen to this song, download it on I-tunes or something, it is really good and it puts things in perspective.

Smiley girl...

I LOVE Peiton and I LOVE her smile. She has the cutest little smile. I love coming home in the mornings and going to get her out of the crib, and she smiles from ear to ear...it just makes my day. Anytime you pick her up she will give you this big grin. And I can't forget to mention her cute giggle that keeps getting cuter and cuter. I have loved having this little girl in our family, she is the perfect addition. I love watching her grow and working to accomplish the little milestones that they go through this age in their lives. Peiton you brighten my day, and I LOVE you so much! You are yummy, yummy, yummy!

Bode, Bode, Bode...

I LOVE Bode!! I know half of the time I am complaining about all the things Bode gets into, or something that he did that just urked me. But, it is times like this, that I am glad for the little mischievous guy he is. On Friday, I was in the shower and Bode came into the bathroom. It looked like he was playing with lotion, so I just let him lather himself up. It wasn't until I was getting him dressed a hour later that I smelt tanning lotion. Bode WAS playing in the lotion, but low and behold it was the tanning lotion. :) All I could do was laugh, he was suddenly getting this nice and golden tan on portions of his body. I LOVE things like this that he does that gives me a good laugh. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I just have to remember that I can make the best of everything little thing he gets into. I can laugh about it, or be mad, laughing about it is the much better way and brightens my day. So, here is to Bode and his nice golden tan. You look amazing little guy!

The "Tan King" himself

A little "tan" here and a little "tan" there.

All about ME tag...

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning. B. Each player answers the questions about themselves. C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

10 years ago...I started working at Delta Airlines as a ticket counter agent. I worked nights so in the day I was pretty bored. I got a full time job at Old Navy during the days to fill my time up. I had a lot of fun shopping because I had two incomes. SWEET! I also bought my very first car. I black 1994 (I think that was the year) Acura Integra. I LOVED that car! Collin and I had it until a little over a year ago when some girl ran into him and totalled it. When I had a night off, I usually spent it rippin' up the floor at The Bay...O' Yeah...you know you all loved The Bay! I loved to go country dancing there.

5 things on my to do list today...Run 11 miles, go to the store, have a nap, clean out old clothes, tend Drewski.

Snacks I enjoy...Now, the question is...are these suppose to be healthy snacks? For healthy snacks, I love my Carb Master yogurt with the Pumpkin Granola (the one Haws and Stacy loves too) it is delish. My Apex cookie dough bars. An apple with salt on it, let me remind you, the apple does have to be crispy or it just isn't as good. Now as for those snacks that are not so good for you...I LOVE anything with cookie dough in it, shakes, icecream, whatever bring on the cookie dough. And I LOVE popcorn, my favorite would be Pop Secret Homestyle if it is store bought. I love to make it from scratch with oodles of butter on it.

What would I do if I were suddenly a billionare? I would pay off all debt (duh...of coarse). I love to travel, I would take my family on trips all the time...see the world. Invest and experiment with things that I would love to do, if it didn't work out it didn't really matter...heck I am a billionare. I would be very giving with my money, help those in need. I would also love to start something to help those kids with down syndrome get the best help so they can succeed in life and become the best they can.

5 bad habits...once I start eating something really good, I usually can't control myself, so I keep on eating. I am a procrastinator on a lot of things. I forget to enjoy each day, I wish away the weeks and can't wait for the weekends. I need to enjoy each day with my family and cherish the memories. Some of the TV shows I watch are bad habits.

5 jobs I have had...Pharmacy Tech, Delta Ticket Counter agent, Old Navy, medical transcriber, mom.

5 things people don't know about me...I am a beauty school dropout (sometimes I would love to go back). I am a fan of MTV reality shows...go Jackwee! I am really not a blond, I was at one time. I got my associates degree from Snow College, O'yeah Snow College baby...go badgers! I broke both colar bones when I was little.

That is it! Now I tag...Kelly, Court, Amanda, Shannon, Laurie, Keysha, and all those that want to participate.

Cooper Dooper

Cooper Charles is next on the things that I LOVE! How could you not LOVE this kid? He is one cute guy. Cooper is such a good big brother. He is constantly helping with Bode and Peiton, and the thing about it is that he LOVES to do it, no complaining comes from his mouth. He is such a sweetie with a tender heart, yelling at him could really traumatize this little guy. But, there is rarely an occasion that you need to yell at him. He is always choosing the right. Cooper LOVES to play with his friends, LOVES to play video games, LOVES to run around outside, and LOVES to spend time with his grandparents. I LOVE that he brightens my day each day....LOVE you so much Coop!

Lovey, Dubby, Hubby!

Of coarse the first thing that I love is my family. I decided since I do have 29 days to tell you something that I LOVE, I would individualize them. So, we are going to start with my sweet hubby Collin. We have been together for about 9 years now, and it has been amazing. There are so many things that I LOVE about Collin. I am going to have to limit it to just a couple, because I could go on and on about the things I LOVE about him. First, he is a wonderful husband. He goes over the top to make sure I am happy. He always puts me and the kids first, he comes last. He is so supportive in all that I want to do, and makes sure that I accomplish it. He is a wonderful father, couldn't ask for better. The kids LOVE to spend time with him, and he LOVES to spend time with them. One thing I admire about Collin is that he is always in a good mood. If he is not I know something is bothering him. You can always count on Collin for bringin' the fun to the party. Like I said, I could go on and on about things I LOVE about Collin, but I don't want this to be a novel. So, I am going to leave it at that. But, just to let Collin know how much I LOVE him and appreciate the man he is. LOVE you babe!

The month of LOVE...

With it being the month of LOVE, I decided that I would post something each day that I LOVE. Hopefully we can all find some LOVE this month.
