St. Patricks Day-like 2 months ago :)

Okay, so St. Patrick's day was like 2 months ago but I am going to post anyway. I am going to post all of the things that have been going on in the Richards home the last couple months. There may be pictures and very little details about the pictures, but at least it is something. So, lets start with St. Patrick's day...

Here is the gold that the leprechaun left the lucky kiddos. I think the Leprechaun got a little lazy and decided to just draw the feet all over the Richards home (we looked a little WT), cutting the feet out was a little to much work.

The gold was peanut butter cups, by the time the Leprechaun made it to the store the rolos were all gone.

Happy belated St.Patrick's day to you all!

Tulip Festival

We love to go to Thanksgiving Point Gardens! They are beautiful and the kids can just run around. Well, again this year we haven't been able to really enjoy them, we did catch in one day that was nice so we could enjoy the Tulip Festival that they have every year. It was beautiful and the kids had a great time just running around enjoying the beautiful, somewhat warm air.
Cooper and Peiton posing for a snapshot.
Grandma Holly with almost all of her grandkids, we are missing Carter and the little girl in Kelly's tummy! Yeah a girl, Peiton will finally have a girl to play with!

Love this shot! Love this guy!

Snack time!

Good bye Thanksgiving Point! You were beautiful! We will be back when it warms up..if it ever warms up. :)

New Toy

For Easter Collin's parents gave the kids a new sandbox for Easter, the setting up process was quite the chore. Collin and Charlie thought it would take a few hours, well the few hours turned into a whole day...:) But the kiddos love it and I love to clean up all the sand in the house. I was looking for something to keep me a little more busy. :)

Peiton just woke up from a nap and did NOT want her picture taken.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the great toy!

Pumpkin Patch

I was feeling a little brave last week and thought I would venture out to the pumpkin patch. We have a darling one kind of by our home. It has a corn maze and a ton of pumpkins to choose from, and quite cheap too. I thought it would be something fun for the kids to do on the beautiful day that it was. Every year that I had been before it was a disaster, and I am not sure why I didn't think it would be this year too....I guess I had my fingers crossed that it would work out okay...but no, it was crazy!

First, we made our way to all the cool tractors they have. They let the kids play on them and just explore. Coop thought they were pretty cool, Bode wasn't quite sure and Peiton was scared of them...we got away from the tractors.
We thought we would go to the corn maze first, that actually turned out great! The kids loved it!

After we got through with the corn maze, it was off to choose our pumpkins. It started going well until Peiton fell and would not quit screaming...I think she was scared of the pumpkins too. Bode thought he would run all around the pumpkin patch, which is hard to chase him carrying a screaming Peiton and pushing a wheelbarrow full of pumpkins. Thank goodness Coop is always up for chasing Bode and Jacki was able to help me push the wheelbarrow.
So we have Bode running all over the pumpkin patch, going into the corn maze and Peiton screaming bloody murder...I was READY to go!

Cute Cooper! Always so good!

Peiton screaming bloody murder!

We tried to get a good group shot before we left. Bode wouldn't look at the camera, Peiton wouldn't sit down because she was screaming and scared of the tractor and it was very difficult to get all the kids to look at the camera at one time...this is the best we could do.
Next year, I think I just might not go, or make sure Collin is with me....

I HEART....

I HEART my kiddo's!

I love this picture, because it is such my kids personality. Cooper is usually just quite entertained with anything, very mellow and just kind of a laid back kid. Then there is Bode who seems to always be off in his own little world doing whatever his little heart desires. Then there is Peiton, the little princess, she is usually making this face about 50% of the day. I have learned just to usually walk away when she does it:)

I love the differences in all of them and I love the happiness they bring into our homes. i am one pretty lucky mom to have some pretty stinkin' cute kids!

Church and hand-me-downs...

I always love to get the kids all dressed up on the Sunday before Christmas. This year it didn't really go as planned, but is worked out okay and I saved a little money. The plan was to have them all in red, black, white and grey. Cooper, I got him a new sweater and he had some grey slacks and I thought he had some black shoes, which he did, but they were to big (hand-me-downs) we put them on last night and his foot looked 10 times bigger than it was. Doubling up the socks wasn't going to work:( so his outfit didn't really work out.
Then there was Bode, I bought him some new black shoes for his outfit (which he is not wearing) and I decided they were too much money for one pair of black church shoes that he would wear twice, so I opted out on putting him in the Christmas outfit I got for him. Instead I got out a old red sweater and his brown cords. Now I will take back his black shoes and the black cords that went with his hand-me-down sweater.
As for Peiton, everything worked out great and she looked darling (I thought, besides the rash she has all over her face that I can't figure out what it is). She was wearing a darling hand-me-down dress that was worn by a few of Stacy's girls.
Anyway, they all turned out darling and like I said before, I saved some money and don't you love hand-me-downs? They are the best!

Merry Christmas everyone! I can't believe we are almost there! So exciting!!

Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year and I can't believe it is over. This last week was pretty eventful with all the Halloween festivities, the Richard's home love Halloween festivities. On Halloween eve, we finally were able to carve our pumpkins. Bode thought is was awesome, he was actually given a knife to play with and was able to stab things with it. He was in heaven. Cooper did an awesome job at carving his own too.

The finished jack-o-lanterns

On Halloween we started the day off by going to Coop's school Halloween parade. It was quite the adventure. We sat there for an hour until the actual parade started. By the time we saw Cooper, Peiton was ready to get out of there (so was I), but it was really fun to see all the cute and crazy costumes. We saw some pretty creative costumes.

After Coop got home from school we headed out to see my Grandma Van. Her retirement center was doing a Halloween parade and trick-or-treating for all the grand kids. Yes, more trick-or-treating, which means more candy, which means more candy for mommy, and that means more calories being eaten minute by minute (my stomach and booty are loving me this year).
It was so good to see Grandma and I think she loved having all the grand kids coming to see her. It was great to see all the elderly so excited to see the kids too.

Cooper, Grandma & Bode

Grandma and all the grand kids (well 1/2 of the grand kids)

A few random photos of our adventure at the resting home.
Notice the one on the far right corner, Bode thought it was so neat that he would go to all these people and they would just give him candy. He always would have his bag ready and got so excited when they put something in it:)

When we got home, the night was just beginning. It was off to more Halloween festivities!

This is the bum of Bode's costume (skunk) When I saw the costume I had to get it, I call him "little stinker" all the time.

Imagine a couple who is pretty much perfect. They are great neighbors, great friends, they are nice to EVERYONE, they have a GREAT sense of humor, fun to be with, they have darling little girls, and they feed the whole street YUMMY Navajo tacos on Halloween night...well no one else but ...
The Olson's~
These are our amazing neighbors the Olson's who we love dearly!

Thanks for the yummy dinner!

After dinner, Collin took Coop and Bode trick-or-treating. Bode made it to one house and he was done he clapped and headed home. Coop and Collin were out for almost 2 hours getting candy galore and visiting with fun neighbors. I stayed home and checked out all the cute costumes and by 9:45 rolled around, I was crashed and ready for bed, sorry Collin:( I am no fun, couldn't even watch a scary movie because they scare me so bad!
I hope everyone had a great Halloween and now we are on to Thanksgiving:)
