Bode starts Kindergarten!

It is that time, Bode is in Kindergarten, wowsers! He hasn't been to school since June so I wasn't sure how he was going to take it. The first day wasn't too bad putting him on the bus, he got on okay and did pretty well for his first day.
Waiting for the bus, not quite sure what is going on.
Bode sees the bus!

Bye, bye Bode!

Bode made it home, it was a nice short day and his teachers said he did great!
If this isn't the old man smile, I don't know what is...:)
Go Buzz! The backpack Bode picked out all by himself.
Well the first day was great! The next two weeks were a roller coaster for Bode. The second day not so great for Bode. I guess there was a little boy on the bus that screamed the whole time, this made it really hard for Bode. It made him super nervous, he wasn't sure what was going on and he was in tears when he got off on the bus at school. He puckered up and had a great day. The next day he would not even get on the bus, he was so nervous. I had to drive him to school and he was doing great until he saw the same little boy and he wanted nothing to do with his class. Each day got a little better, it wasn't so traumatizing every time he had to get on the bus, by Friday he was doing pretty good. but not for long....The next week he had an experience that still breaks my heart and it will for a while, and I am not to sure if I even want to explain that now, so I won't, maybe later.
We hope that it will get better and better for Bode that he may enjoy like he once did. I know he loves school, he has awesome teachers (we have always been blessed with Bode's teacher, they all have been so great!).
Keep it up Bode, you are doing great and it will get better! Pretty soon you will rock that Kindergarten class, just like you did your preschool class!

Catch up Ten-Cooper and Cub Scouts

A couple weeks ago Cooper received his Bear award. Go Coop! The same night he participated in the Rain Gutter Riggata. He built an awesome Chicago Bulls boat and he took second place, he was pretty sweet I must say, but I am his mother. :)

Isn't he the cutest Cub Scout ever?
Good job Coop!

Catch up Nine-The Barn

We have a membership to Thanksgiving Point which is awesome, but I don't use it as much as I would like to. I can't go anywhere with Bode and Peiton together unless they are in a shopping cart and that is even risking it. So I don't get there as much as I would like to because it is impossible for me to go by myself.
We ended up going with some of our good friends the Askerlunds for family night. It was perfect! The kids had a fabulous time, it wasn't too long and then we got to finish the night with some super cheap ice cream at the Ice Cream Shoppe. It always makes me feel so great when I have a successful FHE :)

Half of the kids at the beginning of the barn.
Bode loving the chicks. They are pretty cute!
Finally Coop in Jail...I was wondering when this would happen??
Cooper wasn't thrilled to ride the pony, deep down it was all a cover, he actually loved it but couldn't so it because that isn't cool right? And he had a cute girl around that he had to impress. :)
Now Bode is a different story...loved it from the beginning to the end and wanted more when he was done! Love that smile!
Jon and little Meg
I didn't think Peiton would get on, but she did and she loved it!

This cow or goat, or whatever it was, was hilarious It would come right out and greet you, I think he was a little hungry or just a little use to kids. Peiton thought it was awesome!.
All done! See you next time!
Thanks Askerlunds for the great fun (Amy it is time again for another FHE)!

Catch up Eight-Peiton starts Preschool

My baby girl started preschool at the end of August, crazy! She has absolutely loved it!
The first day she was a little nervous, so I drove her instead of having her go on the bus, yes the bus...she is also going to the preschool for little special people because she has grown up having Bode as her role model and she does everything he does, she is improving though.
So once we got to the school she went in pretty good and I could tell she was going to LOVE preschool!

I wasn't sure how she was going to handle coming home on the bus, so I hid out in the parking lot of the school to see how she did. She got right on and loved it! When she got off the bus she was all SMILES!

(I love her backpack, she picked this out herself, it is almost as big as her!)

Daddy loves!
Mommy loves! (yes that is me under all of that crazy hair)

Good work Peiton at being such a big girl!

Catch up Seven-Peiton turns 3!!

Happy Birthday Peiton! ( Like a month ago. :)
3 years old, really? Time flies. Peiton still didn't really get that what a birthday was this year, but she sure had fun opening the presents and blowing out the candles.

For birthday fun, I thought I would take her to get a manicure and pedicure and get her hair cut(it was way too long).. We go to Cookie Cutters and wait to get her hair cut and then they will do a little manicure on her as well. Well once she realized she was getting her hair cut, she kind of started freaking out. Once they tried to put her in the chair, she really freaked out! There was no way that she was getting a haircut, it was quite embarrassing. I left so upset that there was no way I was letting her get a mani and pedi...I know it is her birthday, but no way!!
That was her birthday fun activity. I am sure she loved it! I sure didn't. :)
We had a little party with the grandparents that night. I made a yummy raspberry sherbet dessert and we just had cookies instead of cake, Harmons sugar cookies that is...so delish!

I don't know who is more excited to blow out the candles, Peiton or Bode.

Grandpa and Grandma Bubba

Grandpa Charlie and Grandma Holly

Happy Birthday Peiton! We love you!

Catch up Six-Cooper starts 3rd Grade!

Holy cow, my little guy is in 3rd grade! Can time stop right now? I love the age he is at, still so innocent and sweet, but then he is starting find out what he likes and his personality is growing. I love this kid!

I really hate the first day of school, and the first day going back to school after being off track and the night before all of these days. Cooper is a tad bit sensitive and he hates the firsts of everything, his nerves get the best of him. Bless his heart, he gets it from me. We have tears and nervous tummy the night before and after he is actually at school and realizes this is pretty good, he is fine. It is just that initial first day that gets him.

Coop is such a great kid and a great student, lets hope it stays that way. :)
Love ya Coop!

Catch up Five-Kennecott Copper Mine

Kennecott Copper Mine offered was offering a free admission one day, we thought we would check it out...well so did everyone else and their dogs! The place was packed! I think we were there a total of 15 minutes, although it did take us 10 minutes to walk from our cars to the museum and 10 to walk back, so I guess a total of 35 minutes. I think I am about done with Kennecott Cooper Mine, it is cool the first time, but not so cool the 2nd or 3rd time. :)
The kiddos by the big tire
Grandma Bubba and Pei
Thats all folks! It is a wrap for Kennecott mines!

Catch up Four-Timpanogos Cave

Back in July Cooper and I hiked Timpanogos Cave for the first time. Grandma Holly wanted to take Cooper and I had never done it so I wanted to tag along as well. We had a great time. It was more than I expected, kind of claustrophobic at times and I hit my head quite a few times on the rocks, there are some spots that really don't work so well for tall people.

Connor, Grandma and Coop just before the hike.

Looking at how much higher we have to go. :)
Ready to go into the cave.
Coop and I after walking through the cave.
Cooper and Grandma

All done! Cooper did awesome, he actually said he wanted to hike it again, and I think I would do it again as well. Thanks Grandma for the great time!
